The Visual Arts Commission, under Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture, launched the Mentorship & Guidance Program to nurture the careers of emerging visual artists. From painting and sculpture to digital art and installations, the program provides early-career practitioners with one-on-one support from seasoned professionals, helping shape the Kingdom’s growing arts ecosystem.
Saudi Arabia’s visual arts scene is experiencing rapid transformation, creating fresh opportunities, but career pathways for young artists remain unclear. The Commission needed a distinctive program identity that would fit within its brand family yet resonate with a new generation of artists looking for practical, real-world guidance.
Delivered in three cycles each year, the program pairs up to 15 emerging artists, curators, and art critics per cycle with experienced mentors. By the end of its third cycle in 2024, the initiative has established itself as a cornerstone for nurturing Saudi’s creative talent and shaping careers. We studied global best practices in arts education branding, then distilled this into a local solution: a tight, grid-based logotype with abstract connections that feels youthful and trend-forward. The visual language echo the evolving journey of an artist, structured yet open-ended. It’s an identity that feels progressive, local, and supportive, matching the spirit of Saudi’s cultural vision.
The identity is built on simple geometric shapes and grids, forming a flexible design system for social media, digital campaigns, and program collateral. It’s easy to apply yet visually striking, standing out within the Visual Arts Commission family while maintaining harmony.
