Skyne wins at the Packaging MEA Awards

It is with great pride and pleasure that we announce our big win at the Packaging MEA Award. Skyne took home an award in Packaging Design and Innovation, in the Plastics in Packaging: Flexibles sub-category.

Packaging MEA is the first and only technology magazine for the Middle East and Africa packaging industry. The magazine consistently delivers stimulating insights and opinions from authoritative industry figures, primarily professionals in the MEA region and members of the wider global packaging fraternity.

On the 8th of November, 2021, Skyne was invited to the awards ceremony at the Address Fountain Views Hotel. Brand owners, packaging converters and manufacturers met to recognise and honour the best in quality, design, innovation and sustainability from the regional packaging industry.

We would like to thank our partner Bateel for their trust in Skyne’s vision for Jomara’s packaging.

Mario Moreira, Director Jomara - "Packaging is a masterpiece of Retail, preserving the product and capturing the time-constrained moving shoppers attention. Jomara, as a leading brand in the Dates segment, is constantly searching for the best solutions, safeguarding the product qualities, and easing this amazing fruit consumption on its best. Skyne guided Jomara on developing an outstanding innovative, eye-catching packaging, with visibility of its central piece, the date, allowing a smooth blend on the transparent window on a highly sought pouch, fitted with easy opening, resealable and easy to display!"

DATE BARS JOMARA

Jomara is a premium date brand that grows dates on its own Al Ghat farm in Saudi Arabia. Vast amounts of Jomara date groves are harvested each year, and the product is packaged and sold to B2B customers internationally.

Jomara chose our team to strengthen its image and raise awareness regarding its products' health benefits internationally. The project's goal was to launch new packaging that not only expresses high quality but also appeals to new audiences. For that, we leveraged trends and consumer behaviour to develop a packaging that stands out in a crowded market. We kept three elements in mind: simple design is more effective, a distinctive brand mark is key, and the visual language must ensure a series of visual equities.

We created a design that conveys the four pillars of Jomara dates: healthy, delight, gourmet, and tradition. We changed the original graphical language, included a vibrant and fresh new colour, and selected material linked to a more sustainable look and feel.
